Often we visit existing TIMS users at their campus after they’ve had TIMS in their labs for a while and we are delighted to hear them say that “students really enjoy using TIMS” over other equipment available to them. We believe that the hands-on nature of TIMS which lets students take control of the experiment is one of the important factors behind such student’s satisfaction. They love the fact that all modules are hot-swappable and fully protected.

....the students are engaging with the remote net*TIMS hardware in a way that I would not expect for a simulation experience. I am glad that we were able to arrange this experience for them, and my department head and I have begun discussing how we might integrate remote hardware labs into our future curriculum in ‘normal’ times.

At the Institute of Telecommunications, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Slovakia TIMS has been used since 2004. Mainly to support lectures and seminars of courses on: digital, mobile and optical communications. Personally I perceive the greatest added value of TIMS in the fact that it is a modelling system (not a simulator) working with real signals.

Computer simulations are invaluable in engineering design. But they cannot perfectly model the behavior of actual systems. TIMS provides a "real world" telecommunications systems.

I use a modular laboratory teaching system TIMS for subjects like Signals & systems and Radio comunication for more than 10 years. I like this system because I can demonstrate to students principles of modulators, demodulators or the all transmission model. I often use it with a signal generator and radio receiver. I would recommend TIMS for you.

I am using the TIMS modules for several years. It is a practical way to teach and learn analog and digital telecommunications, from the simplest to the most complex topics. The ease to build different telecommunications  schemes and models similar to the real world, and its interactivity, make TIMS extremely valuable academically. Students quickly learn and experience the concepts involved in each topic using the interconnected functional blocks, interacting with the controls and viewing and analyzing the signals with the oscilloscope and the spectrum analyzer. TIMS have a great collection of telecommunication experiences ready to use with students, all of them are commented and with detailed steps to do. I am so satisfied and content to have these powerful tools that help me a lot.
