How GA Tech Is Taking TIMS-301 Lab Organisation to the Next Level

At Emona, we’re always eager to learn how our university partners are using our lab teaching solutions in unique and innovative ways. Visiting our dedicated users and seeing their hands-on experience with our equipment provides invaluable insights, which helps us shape the future of our technology.

This November, our R&D Director, Carlo Manfredini, had the pleasure of visiting Georgia Institute of Technology (GA Tech) to connect with the team and explore their use of the TIMS-301 systems. As enthusiastic users of TIMS-301, the team at GA Tech has developed an impressive custom solution for module storage that’s both practical and student-focused.

During Carlo’s visit, he discovered that GA Tech had created in-desk, sliding storage racks with custom 3D-printed inserts to hold entire sets of modules. These innovative storage racks allow students to access all necessary modules right at their desks during experiment sessions. This setup not only makes it easier for laboratory managers to organise and maintain equipment but also helps students stay focused on the experiment itself, without needing to search around the lab for parts.

By building an in-house solution tailored to their specific needs, GA Tech has optimised their TIMS-301 lab environment to support smooth, efficient learning experiences. It’s always exciting to see how creative our users get with Emona equipment, adapting it in ways that make a real difference in their educational environment.

We look forward to seeing how other institutions adapt their setups to enhance the student experience, and we’re inspired by the ingenuity we encounter in the field. Thank you, GA Tech, for leading the way with this clever approach!
