TIMS enables students to examine the basic building blocks of telecommunications systems using actual signals, channels, modulators, detectors, etc. and to determine the effect of varying parameters on the performance of these systems using oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers. Labs verify, embellish, and illustrate the theory covered in lecture courses.
